CITY OF DELTA JUNCTION - MUNICIPAL ELECTION
NOTICE OF VACANCIES
The City of Delta Junction will hold a regular election on
Tuesday, October 5, 2010. The
following offices are available:
Council Seat B, three-year term ending in October 2013
Council Seat D, three-year term ending in October 2013
Council Seat G, three-year term ending in October 2013
Candidate Qualifications
Any person is eligible for city office if the person is a qualified
voter of the city and a resident of the city for a period of not
less than one year prior to the date of filing a nominating
petition. Candidates shall provide proof that they are eligible, or
shall be eligible by the date of the election, to be recognized as a
candidate for the upcoming election.
Candidate Packets
Candidate packets are available at City Hall, located at 2288
Deborah Street, 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Candidate
packets consist of a Declaration of Candidacy, Circulator of
Petition Affidavit, Nominating Petition, and Municipal Campaign
Exemption Statement. Candidate packets must be completed and filed
with the City Clerk no earlier than August 25, 2010 and no later
than the close of business on September 9, 2010. Nominating
Petitions must contain the signatures of at least ten registered
voters qualified to vote in the city election.
Withdrawal of Nominating Petitions
A candidate may withdraw from nomination at any time during the
filing period by written notice to the City Clerk. After the filing
period has ended nominating petitions may not be corrected, amended
or withdrawn.

TO VOTE FOR CITY COUNCIL
State of Alaska Voter Registration Applications must be postmarked
before Sunday, September 5 to be eligible to vote in the General
Municipal Election on October 5, 2010.
State law requires 30 days before an election to register or make
changes to your voter registration. You may obtain an application
from City Hall during business hours or download one from the state
website (www.elections.state.ak.us). The Elections Office will
accept faxed applications through Sunday, September 6. Fax completed
form to (907) 451-2832. Once your application is processed, a voter
identification card will be sent to your mailing address within 3 to
4 weeks.

MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT
Qualified voters who will not be able to vote in person at the
Municipal Election on October 5, 2010 can apply for an absentee
ballot. Contact City Hall to apply by mail or fax, in person, or as
special needs.
